As society has developed, children have become more and more susceptible to being subjected to attacks or abuse. Activ8 Self Defence seek to help protect children against this, through teaching them basic self-defence techniques which could help them in a hostile situation. In order to do so, Activ8 Self Defence arrange, structure and teach classes for children from reception classes at 4 years old, right up to mature students at colleges and universities.

The nature of the courses are tailored so that the ability and the requirements of the group are considered, thus taking upon different teaching angles for the different consumer groups. For example, our classes for the younger age groups are based upon awareness of stranger danger, emergency services contact procedures etc, whilst our classes for colleges and universities look to incorporate scenarios which are likely to arise in the lifestyle of the students, i.e. attacks in a town or city centre at night.

All the instructors comply with the governmental requirements, having passed CRB checks prior to instruction. Our instructors also hold first aid certification and health and safety training, thus ensuring the well being of the students involved.

A regular question raised is ?If we agree to the classes do the students require specialised clothing?? This is not a problem area, as many students train in their normal gym wear or tracksuit, although we do offer a service to students where by they can order the specialised clothing at very reasonable rates direct from us. (link to store) This is purely down to individual preference.

We also seek to reward improved and elite training through rewards, such as certificates, gift bags and membership to our full independent classes.
Our lessons may be tailored to fit in with the curriculum, or alternatively may be developed as an extra curricula activity, which ever will best suit the requirements of the institution.
